How does it work?
Your dog needs to be:
- Friendly with other dogs and new people.
- Not show any resource guarding tendencies.
- Be fully vaccinated within the 12 months preceding their first visit.
- Vaccinations must include, Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis Canine (kennel) Cough and Leptospirosis.
- All dogs must be receiving regular worm and flea treatments.
- All dogs must be healthy and free from any contagious diseases.
- De sexing – female dogs that are not spayed can come into season for the first time between approximately eight months and 18 months, but this can vary. In season girls should not be brought to Doggy Day School. Male dogs tend to go through a notable teenage phase and during this time, may start to be more dominant and hyper aroused by other dogs. Any behavioural changes will be discussed with the owner. Generally, it is accepted that dogs should not be desexed until they have finished growing. All behaviour will be monitored, and dogs will be removed from the play area and given the chance to relax somewhere quiet.
- Dogs must be booked in by 6pm the night before you intend on bringing them to Doggy Day School.
- If you cancel your booking after 6.00 pm, or just fail to attend, you will be charged the full session fee.
- If you are booked with a regular booking and you cancel your booking or fail to attend three times, you will be moved to the casual list, and we may not be able to accommodate your booking when you want to book. You will also be moved to the casual booking payment rate.
- All sessions must be paid weekly in advance, including dog taxi service required.
Meet & Greet
- Meet and Greet usually lasts about 20 minutes but there is no rush. I will show you and your dog around and you may get to meet some of our Doggy Day School dogs. I will collect your completed Doggy Day School Registration form and check and take a copy of your dog’s vaccination booklet.
- If your dog passes the Meet and Greet it gets to stay for the rest of the day at no cost.
- Dogs who have been away from Doggy Day School for three months or more must attend another Meet & Greet to ensure they are still suitable for school.
